Life is crazy! I am so behind on Blogging! Who has time for that when I am still trying to figure out how to work 2 jobs, run the kids, clean house cook meals etc etc! Well God is Good! He has Blessed me with a wonderful neighbor! Sadly he will be moving in a couple weeks and will not be around but my dear husband is getting a little better so least he can drive now!

That helps ALOT! I have somehow inherited this 2nd job working at a close by nursing home!

It is nice and I get to see 2 of my class mates each day I am there which is neat! Everyone is so nice there!!!

This is the tiny Salon in the Nursing Home I been working the past 3 weeks...Yes I have been working here part time on top of my full time job to help make up for Bill not working due to a bad back!

I am Trusting God that something Good will happen soon! I cannot make enough to support us though the 12 hr days are killing me and I am thoroughly exhausted,

it all has to help!

This is the full view in these 2 pics..it is very small but nice! I am hoping to be done after 1 more week! The ladies love their hair does and I hear it all the time from the staff!!! just last night I was asked about doing this full time, it is so wonderful to be recognized as this but I just can't as I couldn't make enough and I would miss giving pedicures facials etc:)

Most of the residents come in wheelchairs so I am constantly moving the chair it is a lot of bending, lifting etc! I think my hands are completely dried out from the washing of heads:) ha! I do 5-7 people a day! This job I do after my other one and it is Tuesday through Friday as My other one is Wednesday through Saturday!

With everything else going on we are doing some cosmetic redo to our Salon I work at! It is turning into a jungle animal print salon! we are loving it! I is almost finished! This is a before look....

we will be getting new carpet in our waiting area and dryer room! possibly this weekend or next! So exciting!!! Then I will post final pics!

Life has been BUSY!!! I got a 2nd job working at the local nursing home doing hair! I started last Wednesday and working Monday through Friday besides my other hair salon job! I kinda inherited it as they called our salon looking for someone to fill in as their main girl is off on leave due to eye surgery! This is a bit stressful as my back hurts daily from the bending! most of the residents are in wheelchairs... None the less I have to do this for 3 weeks or so and i am thankful for extra work as my poor hubby is not working due to a bad back and falling on ice did him in! So I am going to be Thankful that God is taking care of us.... We celebrated my mom turning 61 just made a small dinner and did some spa services for my parents they needed done, and now our salon is ripped up as we are re painting it! So much going on I will have to post pics soon!!!

I been so busy there hasn't been time to post about our New Years eve!!! Every year I take the kiddos to our Local Rec center for some family fun events! We played Lazer tag, Bingo, they did some walleyball, and played on the blow up stuff they set up, line dancing, and got face painting done! It was a fun time they also do door prizes, and pass out noise makers and new years head bands just before midnight! Then we watch and count down the ball dropping to Midnight! Here are some pictures from the night! :)

Kalahari tour

Well our dear friends we met from Africa along with our dearest friend Marilyn have all gone back to Tanzania, Africa.

Sad to see them leave! They went back, their 18 hr flight. Marilyn having to teach 80 students the next day! Pretty amazing for a lady in her mid 60's to do all she does!

Below we took them all for a Kalahari tour...Kalahari offers a wide range of fun mainly they are known for their water park there! It is HUGE! We wanted to enjoy their faces so the kids and I along with Marilyn took them to see this!!!

We got to watch them make these HUGE pizzas through the window! So fun!!!

All of us! we were still bundled up from being outside and the water park is So hot and stuffy! The chlorine is very strong smelling too!

It was fun! I made them a wonderful meal of 2 kinds of Quiches, potatoes, mixed fruit, blueberry bagels, and tried to ask them what their favorite american food is now and they had no answer as they love it all:) We will miss them!

Marilyn will be back to visit in 3 yrs! sighzzzzzz...She really likes it there!

We miss her already!

So I am Reflecting on the year 2011...Alot of good things happened this year!!!! I am happy to say

I went on my 2nd Cruise,
Finally got my VERY OWN Vehicle a 2010 Town and Country Caravan YIPPEE!!
I got A Palm Tree Tattoo!
I got a bikini body I always wanted (And now will have to figure out how to get it back)
Accomplished a 7 mile walk!
Got to see Marilyn after being away for over 2 yrs to the peace corp in Africa and being able to meet and entertain 2 guys from there that haven't ever been to the USA!!!
Got to See Crystal my class mate and dearest school friend after 20 yrs!
Was given a REAL 9ft pony tail palm tree!!!
I finally finished the book UNLIMITED By Jillian Michaels!- great book!

It has been a great year! Now ready to see whats in store for 2012..........

My dear friend Crystal I have not seen in 20 yrs came to visit her family and made a point to see me! She was my BFF in grade school! I was SOOO Excited it finally happened! She lives 10 hrs away! We met at Sheri's Coffee House and she also brought her 2 girls along...

6 month old gets 1st hair cut...Mom gets hilites

Baby Elijah gets his 1st professional hair cut at 6 months old! He did GREAT! His dad held him while I cut his hair!

On Tuesday December 6th We did $5.00 Hair cuts all day! It was a huge Success! I think I did the most as I did 20 hair cuts and that kept me quite busy for 12 hrs! We give alot of ourselves in the Salon I work at. I am Blessed to be there and Bless others!

I love to cut hair and everything else required by a cosmetologist. But theres somethiing extra fun doing transformation cuts! This one was a little bit of that...

This was another transformation cut! This is Kathy I have cut her hair for 21 years!

She is the sweetest! She loves my hair cuts! We have always given her the SAME cut as it worked well for her and since her hair is quite thick we thin the heck out of it!

Well This time she decided to get it all cut off her neck! I have never seen her neck bare! haha!

So when we finished here is what she looked like! We both loved it and Think maybe this will be her look from now on:)

I love my job, I love making people look good and feel great about themselves:)

I am So thankful and Blessed to work at a loving salon in a drama free environment!:)

GINGERFEST

It has been a busy weekend! after working all day Saturday we had our Annual GINGERFEST! This is put on by my Uncle Tom and aunt Jody!

Each year they have this, I never am able to help out as it is during the day usually 1-4 or something to that extent. Not this year. This year they had it 5:30-8. So Jelena and I went At 5 and were helpers with the games!

What is Gingerfest? Well it used to be a family event that grew! Now the little kids have all grown and come back to help the next generation. My uncle makes all sorts of games out of strong cardboards and paints it all up as it looks like wood actually! He makes little houses out of the Cardboard for little bodies to fit in and each one has a different excitement!

1 is a Bakery, where the kids can decorate a cut out cookie YUM:) 1 is write a letter to santa, another is a craft where this year they helped make angels! each one is totally different and they leave with a bag of goodies. There is all sorts of games in the back of the room, they get something for each time they play! whether it be a small prize of candy or pencil, or a bigger prize like a ticket to cash in at the end for large toys!

So here I am

They had a clown making all sorts of balloon creations for the kids! Actually Santa stopped by for a visit too:)

NEW TO USA! AHAZI and GODFREY WE WELCOME YOU!!!

2 students came home for a 6 week stay here from Tanzania, Africa with a friend of ours that went over there with the Peace Corp to teach!

Marilyn has 80 students in 1 class and there can be up to 150 for 1 class! They never experienced our country and what a priviledge for them to see it and experience it! They never had American food either but willing to try!

Their country is so poverty poor they have the same food daily, beans and rice and ugali however spelled, a type of corn bread???

Anyway we have entertained them as I wanted them to have Fresh American Cheeseburgers:)

They also taught me of their country, below are the fabrics the women use to make their clothes there...

Honestly their stuff could easily be left and displayed in my house;) haha!

My neighbor, parents, and our 3 guests with my family! I entertained the 11 of us! We enjoyed cheeseburgers, hot dogs, tossed salad, potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, and berry cheesecake for dessert! We had a summer cookout in the late fall;) Was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it:)

So Nice to have Marilyn home, want to see her every chance we get!:)

DEJAVU for me... It has been a long time, 21 yrs since I was in this school so exciting to go back into the old building again! So much has changed!

Adam was seriously thinking of doing electrical engineering...

but is steering more towards computers again I guess...

This is NOT a small Freezer BUT a HUGE Mess!!! My hubby put 3 Gallons of Cider in my freezer on their ides and when I opened the freezer one day I saw this mes only magnified, this was taken after I cleaned up some of it! Honestly I dreaded it! Cider on EVERYTHING in there!

We enjoyed a Different Untraditional Thanksgiving like no other! We planned on celebrating a day late due to my dads work schedule...So we enjoyed a different kind of Thanksgiving! We went to RYANS STEAKHOUSE BUFFET to eat then to see JACK AND JILL THE MOVIE!!! It was a fantastic hilarious non stop laughs kind of comedy we all needed to see! I know everyone appreciated it!

I thought I would rather have the colored one but for cost and all I am happy to have this as Jon did a fantastic job! I will now cross this off my bucket list:) I know I live in the wrong state....perhaps someday I will live where it is always warmer:)

A couple weeks ago My mom took me to GIRLS NIGHT OUT as she has taken me there for like 4 yrs now? It is for a good cause! It all helps toward cancer!

Cake! The food was really good this year as they had pastas and a couple different sauces! The cake was very good too!

Every year My hubbys company has "casino" night...This is where each couple receives $6000 in play money and we gamble for money which we can trade in for prizes at the end of the night! they provide an amazing Steak dinner and assorted desserts. It is lots of fun! Since we do not gamble and appreciate having money at the end of the evening so we just sit and visit with the non gamblers:)

VAMPIRES....Halloween Party

Bill and I enjoyed going to this Halloween party once again this year! Always have the Best Chili there! They make a HUGE Cauldron of Chili- 100lbs! She makes a bunch of homemade pies, and there's plenty of snacks, cookies, and candy to eat!

Bill and I really got into the dressing up of it all this year! We went as VAMPIRES!

1st place went to the Surprise in the box....you can only imagine whats in it! HA! Yes this is an ADULT PARTY ONLY!

2nd place went to Fred and Wilma

3rd place went to the Bikers:)

I Normally go as 80's- Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, or a punk Rocker! So this is all new for me! It was fun:) My 10 yr old was quite freaked by our looks so I knew we did good:)

We enjoy their Haunted House basement with the lighting and special affects! It really is quite impressive how well it is put together! and we love the Live DJ as they play great music! A fun night!!!

Silk eyelash extensions...

Well today I was used as a sample for trying out these silk eyelash extensions! It was quite a procedure but not painful or anything! There was alot of lashes added which took nearly an hour to have each one put on!

We purchased these from the hair show and learned about them....Well Maureen did! She will be doing these in the salon! They can last up to 4 weeks for $50.00!!!

Over the weekend We went to a Big Hair show! My Boss and I went Saturday Night and our co worker Maureen joined us the next day! The Show itself was Sunday and Monday!

This will complete the education we need for the next year! This particular hair show was alot of fun and Big! There was lots of vendors....Below is a show going on called Sexy Hair...

There are hair cuts and shows going on all over plus in the class rooms....We signed up for the ones we wanted to see but this was a guy stylist more or less showing off....With blasted music he was surely flipping the shears around, some were rather scared watching, haha!

I had my nails all done in glittery black polish with SHELLAC, If you are not familiar with this item it is a 2 week polish! For some odd reason I had a nail peel off so I had them refix it with some creativity!:)

I was asked just before this show If I wanted to be a hair model for this keratin blowout! I am usually pretty open to whatever, so I did it! Here is my Before look ...

Here is the after look...It is a smoothing treatment to defrizz hair! It is pricey as most salons can charge $200.00- $300.00 a treatment!

The latest craze is Gems for the hair! They are such a pretty accent!

We stayed at a fancy Hotel across the street and after Sunday nights show we enjoyed dinner at Max and Ermas!

It was sad in a way but time to move on! taking care of a cat, a dog, 3 kids, a husband, house and a full time job AND trying to find time to work out is just too much anymore! So we downsized probly the easiest of all of them- the cat! We love Lucy and have sent her on her way to a good home! She will be staying at my Mothernlaws now! The kids fought over scooping the litter box and feeding her etc so honestly I am tired of the smell and cleaning it myself! Perhaps one day when they are on their own THEY can have one then but for now....they can visit her! She is a precious little one:)

The staff Girls from TRANQUILITY SALON set up at a great event called Grease and Glamour! It was an event to help with Domestic Violence!

Here is my putting in 3 feathers....I had a great response I put in 15 feathers in the girls as so did some others!

I also did a basket weave braid on a little girl with hair to her butt!:) She LOVED it!

The day has come! I am officially 40! A client Blessed me with 2 tickets to go on the Jet Express.

So we were Finally going to use them and go to Putnbay!

I had been wanting to go there and since living now all that far from it all my life it was a bout time! I took Bill with me to the Salon and had to do 2 clients early so we left after that!!!

I guess there is alot to see and do there but most was closed up for the season as it is really late in the year now! Alot of drinking goes on so not sure I am all that interested in going back but it was ok! We were quite nervous as the waves were really getting high and by the time we wanted to go home the waves were 12 ft high! they cancelled 2 of the ships back and told us we might be stranded over night!This was not a good thought for me I had enough and was ready to go home and see my kiddos!:) It all worked out....we got on the 5pm ship back...

We went around the place with this golf cart we rented! It was cold, and windy and really the only way!:)

I never got a Birthday cake but I guess I didn't need it! 40...wow! Crazy!:)

I enjoy where I work and thought I would share with all of you!

Sandy goes all out when she fixes food for these special events! We provided breakfast for our Wedding party coming in at 7am! She bought REAL maple syrup, crushed pecans for the caramel apples to be rolled in and gourmet cheeses and fruits, maple sausages, mini cinnamon rolls, french toast sticks etc!

Well we Finally enjoyed the all you eat Shrimp fest going on at Red Lobster! It was sooo fantastic! I ate over 100! Yes I made a huge pig of myself and it was soooo nice to FINALLY celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary from this past June 19th! We really enjoyed the evening! We sang Happy Birthday to both tables beside us and nice conversation with 1 couple! What a blast!

We had the best waitress EVER too This is Lee Lee you must ask for her if you go have this deal! She is on it!:) This deal may or may not be going on in your area till 1st of Novemeber!

I never order dessert but it was a special occassion and seriously after all that sodium I thought ice cream sounded wonderful so I had the chocolate chip cookie sundae! YUM! She even stuck a candle in it for my anniversary!;)

Kedric Hospitalized!

It was a long weekend! When getting ready to "doctor" Kedrics arm I noticed how bad this (what looked like a spider bite) had gotten! OMG! I immediately called the Dr. ( 8pm) and though they were not planning to take any more patients I talked them into making an exception as I was quite concerned with Kedric's arm! They said to hurry in and someone would fit him in! Thankfully they did! After Dr. Mel looked at it she noticed there was a red streak running down his elbow meaning he now had it in his blood stream! She called it lymphangitis....It was getting serious and he pulled me aside and said They cannot treat him as he needs to be admitted ASAP! I was in shock! He did indeed have MRSA!

If you are not sure of what this is, it is a very serious and can be deadly staph infection if it goes untreated! HIGHLY contagious!

Still in the Dr's office....

Here he was TRYING to get an IV which took them 4 times to get!

Darcy was the BEST nurse! Every hour the monitor beeped to have more medicine in it and only Darcy made sure to get it before it beeped and we woke up!:) Finally a descent night sleep! Well as best as one can get sleeping in a leather hospital style recliner! Which I did for 4 nights!!!

Sunday morning they had to call the surgeon in to blast it open and drain the build up of whatever in there....Here he is waking up from the procedure!

They had to pack it only twice afterwards! THANKFULLY I did not have to do it! There is NOOOO way my week knees could!

he did great over all and poor kid bored out o his mind and sad to mess up his perfect attendance record...he got the 2 stuffed animals on the right from the nurses the girly cow from our neighbor and the card from my parents! Jelena made him some buttons on strings that turned into something to play with which she made him from working at the Autumn Leaves Festival!

5 Days later...Being released from the Hospital! Finally;) So excited!!!

Dr. Centa The Surgeon wanted to see him in the office after we were released! Everything looked well so we just keep a band-aid on it and take the antibiotics!

Back to school tomorrow! YIPPEEEE!!!

So I left work and went and picked up my 2 highschoolers from band practice along with Jelenas friend to take home. When I got her home not too far from my house I took us home. I had to head back to work to observe how to do a couple high fashion looks on a set of twins while Sandy is on vacation so I took Jelena back with me. As I was pulling out of the driveway, it did not sound good as it actually sounded flat. Jelena said you probly ran over something. So I got out and looked and all was fine, I should have looked closer! On my way to work, my van was warning me of a low tire! When I got to work I called AAA as it was hissing and in no time at all it went flat as a pancake! UGH of course I was thinking NOT AGAIN! This is the 2nd tire I have had to replace in the 5 months of owning the vehicle! NOT COOL!!!

So after they changed it this is the huge wedge of metal in it!!! So I was thinking where could this have happened??? It then dawned on me it had to be from the railroad tracks! I go over them daily and it looks like something found in them that got loosened! Disturbing since I have to have high end special ordered tires! All in All I called the dealership which I think they are beginning to know me by voice;) ordered me a new one in and finally got it on today! YEAH! The spare is good for a pinch but tired of people looking at me odd for driving so slow;) Ha! Lets hope my bad luck is done now!!!

Jelena and I went shopping for a homecoming dress but unfortunately had NO luck! Hopefully I will find a great deal fall from the sky for us! But until then Borders is going going gone! Another great book store closing their doors! We went Saturday night as the sign said final 3 days left! I do not read enough to keep them open but once in a while I would find a great deal to snatch up!

I was so lucky to find a fitness book by Denise Austin! Tht was a Blessing as there really was nothing good left! I think It got thrown off to the side somewhere....lucky me @ 80% off;) Jelena found a great language book translating from where our dear friend is at in the Peace Corp!

Melon Festival

This weekend was our Melon Festival! It is in the square where I work, so we have to close early on Friday and Saturday we close completely! Its such a tiny space to have it but none the less they do it here every year! My 2 teens were in the parade marching band. I have to go every year to get my Cheese on a stick and my melon ice cream and watermelon sherbet! It is made by Toft's and they only make this one time a year just for this event!

You can get it in either hard pack or soft serve! Here is Adam eating a soft serve one! YUMMY:)

Walking around the festival was this statue, or LIVE statue rather;)

The Band! An exciting moment for me!:) I never played in the band but always loved to hear them! Now I can be proud to watch my 2 kiddos in it! I then took that as my cue to follow them till the end with my camera;) I know I live to embarrass them;)

Weekend Recap

I worked a half day Saturday, then I enjoyed a 6.5 mile bike ride down our trail! We then went to Ryans Buffet. Well Bill and I did, for his work! They had a Truck drivers meeting there and all the spouses were invited! I don't turn down free food;) Bill and I then went to Cedar Point to see the Starlight night display before they take it all down to get ready for Halloweekends! The weather was beautiful and breezy! We walked off our food and only rode the skyride as it then shut down due to getting windier! Then we came home and called it a night!

Sunday I went out with my 2 Besties!! Rhonda and I went to Columbus to see our friend Julie! It was a wonderful day! We went to The Mongolian BBQ- I love this place as it really is an amazing Stir Fry Buffet! You pick out all the meats and veggies in your bowl and they fry it up in front of you! DELICIOUS!

After several plates and I do mean SEVERAL plates of food we walked around Easton and went to Planet Smoothie where I had a fat blasting PBJ smoothie! FABULOUS!

1 Cup Water

1 Cup Sugar

5 TSP. Cornstarch

small package of peach flavor jello

1 pie crust ( I used a graham Cracker crust)

several Peaches, peeled and cut up small...

Bring the 5 ingredients to a boil, stir until thick. Add peaches, pour over crust. refrigerate 5 hrs or until firm! YUMMY:)

Bills Company, that he works for, every year has a Driver Appreciation Day! Half of the guys pick Gulfing while the other half chose Perch Fishing! This was the 1st time each driver was aloud to bring a person! So I went as a 1st time fisherman! We all had a blast! We caught 600 perch between us all and after they had them professionally cleaned we each got 30 to take home! YUMMY:) Below are pics taken of the event! We were on a charter boat and it did rain a little but otherwise was a perfect day for this! I just so happened to catch the larges perch of the day! It was 12 and a quarter inches long! if it would have been 13 inches my name would have been sent in for recognition! If only I had gotten a pic of that, The captain was quick to take it off so oh well I was not picking up the bloody fish for the effect! lol! Anyway when we were all finished we met up where the Gulfers were and had steaks and ribs they made us which were FABULOUS! Then I got a gift for catching the biggest fish so I got an under Armour jacket which was a pretty pricey gift! How exciting is that? I am so Blessed!

I brought Taco Salad, Fruit pizza, and fudge brownies! We enjoyed many wonderful margaritas and other fine drinks! It was a lovely evening! We enjoyed a quick dip in the pool and sitting around an open fire pit...The Tikki bar was amazing!

I LOVE my sunglasses!!! I wear them all year long! Summer and especially in Winter! I usually settle for cheapies but was sooo Blessed To find these sold at a Nice store on clearance! So I got 2 pair for less then what 1 pair was regularly! Now I have 2 adorable pairs I love!;) I love being at the right place at the right time;)

Huron County Fair

It was a grand week at the Fair Well At least Jelena would say so;) She is in 4-H this year, therefore she was able to go to the Fair every single day! What a blast!

This is my favorite part of the fair! I LOVE Fried Cheese on a stick! It is sinful, but SOOOO delicious;)

Jelena had 3 things entered in the fair, this was all a new experience and she loved it so much she will be doing it again next year!

She got 2 - 3rd place ribbons, on her Sketch, and Necklace. She also got an honorable mention for Art...

She took Art As Expression, and Sports Nutrition 1: On Your Mark.

She got an A grade ribbon for both her food and art. She got a 2nd place Ribbon for the Food project.

at could be better then a Friendly's reeces pieces Sundae? Turning it into Breakfast! Diet or no diet, I have wanted to take my oldest son Adam to Friendly's for this amazing stuff for like 2 yrs now! I know it may take me that long to work it off, but none the less it was amazing! 3 Pancakes with reeces pieces in them topped with hot fudge and peanut butter sauce, more reeces pieces, and whip cream! The only thing different with Adams was he had chocolate ones as mine were regular. I must say his were better and since he had a hard time finishing it all up I had to eat the last of his, stuffed beyond, and sugar high ( who needs coffee today):) we headed over to Cedar Point for early entry to ride only 2 major rides, then we came home and headed to our local fair!

Church Picnic- Rained out!

We had our church picnic Sunday but it didn't quite go as planned! I took 4 items, this being 1 of them peanut butter blondies, and chocolate crunch cookies!

We were So rained out! Even though we were under a shelter the wind was blowing the rain in and it was cold and rained on all the food! Luckily we got to eat a little before this happened! We had quite a Down pour so things got muddy quick!

Below is Hannah and Jelena! It was nice to have Hannah home visiting from school, She didn't mind getting wet at all so every one had her do their dirty work if it entailed being out in the wet....:)

Everyone tried to huddle in the middle to keep warm and dry but it didn't really happen that way! Only here in OH can it be warm 86 degrees warm and sunny to 70 degrees cool and rainy the next day!

Needless to say that ended the even for the day! :)

Feathers have become the latest craze! There are so many colors and styles to choose from! They are so fun and quick and easy to put in someones hair too! I think they have become so popular since Steven Tyler wore them on american Idol last year! We order them in the salon and within 2 days they are sold out! It is crazy:) We love it though! Here I have a skinny pink and teal color in mine! These are fun for long and short hair, young and older clients as well! They last a few weeks as you can wash, curl or straighten them as you wish!!!

Fresh Blueberry Peach pie!

Fresh from the oven! Now all we need is some vanilla ice cream, Yeah that should do it:)


BLUEBERRY - PEACH PIE
Pastry for 2 crust 9" pie 3 c. sliced fresh peaches 3 c. fresh blueberries 1 c. sugar 3 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tsp. lemon juice 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Set aside 9 inch uncooked pie crust. In large bowl mix peaches, blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice and cinnamon. Turn into pie crust. Top with remaining pastry crust. Vent with several holes. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes or until crust is golden.

I passed out pens, and candy for Terry's Taxi and I passed out my business cards and brochures for our salon I work at!

My Pastor Is running for Mayor, lots of people walked and supported him! My youngest Kedric being one of them:)

My parents were great and Adam too! They took all the photos and lots more I do not have time to post! We enjoyed a relaxing day, hot dogs on the grill and FIREWORKS!
