I took the kids to Hogans Hill today which is a very popular place to take kids sledding! Popular it was too! Lots of people were there having the time of their lives. I however watched the kids, the worst was trying to get up the hill when they were finished!
Crazy! I think they should have steps to climb up on or get another rope since the last one was stolen? Whatever! It was way too much torture for ME to go down I know. I would have never made it back up again and well my toes were pretty much already froze stiff! After all I did have 3 pair of socks and well the boots were apparently NOT well insulated! I do not go sledding! I do not even like cold, remember me?I'm PALMTREEFANATIC! I need hot sun warmth and of course Palmtrees real or fake I don't even care! I thought I was going to DIE just standing in the cold. (sigh) I finally went into the Van and took the freezing boots off and put my toes over the heat vent which I guess helped a little then I had to put them back on and thats it we are outa here! Enough is enough! After all I knew after 1 hr in this cold with snow blowing at you that the kids had to be cold right? Would they finally give in? PLEASE already, Ok finally We went home and had chicken and rice soup and hot chocolate warmed up and followed it by Ice cream ( I know, it just made us all cold again but they wanted it) Now they are winding down and should sleep good tonight!!! soon I hope! Let me tell you WHY I don't go sledding. I had a VERY bad experience, like ummm 9 years ago? It was the dumbest day EVER to do such a thing! We went to Hogans Hill and were the ONLY ones there (which should have told me something) Anyway Dear Husband and I and Adam our only at the time went there and it was not snowy it was ICEY! It was a sunday Most things were closed Even church and all I could think was that it would be extra fun to slide down the hill....Well We did and 1 trip down my coat flipped up and I cut my back all the way down OUCH! It messed
my thinking up, been afraid of it ever since! missing out? maybe but I don't care! All I know is when it happened I knew that was IT for me! so thats my story! Usually our dear Friend Bob from church take the kids so we don't fret it too much! And Maybe just maybe Sometime I will get the courage though I hope I don't wait tooo long after all I am not getting any younger...Oh BTW, sorry I did not get but only 1 pic of Jelena she was always down the hill, that is her with the red hat coming up the hill with kedric anyway enjoy the photos, its the best I could get...well I better get my menu ready to post tomorrow...I got some great tasting ones I want to try from the new taste of home magazine! OH and BTW the plans got totally changed, so we still have NOT seen the pirates of the Caribean movie, I guess we will someday....

Tina, you can't even begin to imagine how much I understand. I live in ski country, for Pete's sake, and excuse me, but no way! I've been "skiing" exactly two time in my life, the second being sheer stupidity because the first time was such a disaster.
What was I thinking! I absolutely hate to be cold. Sorry, meet me in the ski lodge. I'll be the one under all the lap throws with a nice cup of apple cider in my hands.
So I understand. Great photos, though. My, the sacrifices we make for our kids. LOL
Your a good mommy. I haven't had the kids out in the snow yet. I can't get them to fall asleep tonight either because they all seem to think there will be no school tomorrow. I'm not so good of mommy because I don't even know where there snow cloths are. I put them away at the end of last winter and I don't remember where i stored them.. UGH.. I guess I should get off line and go look seeing how if there isn't school tomorrow I'm sure they are going to drive me crazy till they get to go out in the snow. I don't know I think they will have school. LOL maybe a 1 or 2 hour delay but still have school.
Looks so freezing cold! I wouldn't mind having weather that cold for few days..had never experienced snow before..but from your story it looked rather scary too!
Looks like it needed a bit more snow. We went Thursday night with the Youth - or rather, I did. Billy was out of town. We had fun. I went down lots. Krista had the HARDEST time getting back up. it was funny.
Hogan's Hill I love that place.. Used to go their all the time when I was younger..
there's a really great hill behind my school cafeteria.. and people go down it on lunch trays... They actually work really great..
